Swimming Pool
Swimming Pool

The Laurel Swimming Pool, located on the corner of Hwy 15 and Wakefield Street in Lion’s Club Park, is normally open Memorial Day weekend and is open through the summer until about a week before school starts in August.  It has a slide, diving boards, and a canopied area for sitting.  It is located in Lion’s Club Park, next to LCC High School. Splash Pad

The Splash Pad, is located on the North side of the Laurel Swimming Pool in Lion’s Club Park, is normally open Memorial Day weekend and is open through the summer until the cold weather shuts it down. Contact the City Office for more information, 402-256-3112.

Youth Recreation

The Laurel Youth Recreation is designed for youth sports of all ages.

In the Spring, kids in kindergarten through sixth grade can play soccer.  The games are held in Laurel on the LCC old football field (open area north of LCC Elementary).

In the fall, boys in grades four through six play youth football, and girls in grades three through six play volleyball. 

In the winter months boys and girls in grade three through six play basketball. 

In the summer, baseball and softball are offered to all kids ages five through 18.  Laurel has its own softball field and baseball field, both located close to the Laurel City Park.

The Laurel Youth Rec Board works with LCC Schools to get the information out to the families informed for sign-ups and schedules.

Golf Course
Cedar View Country Club Golf Course

Cedar View Country Club is a 9-hole golf course on the south side of Laurel, through the Hillcrest Addition. Activities available are ladies league on Tuesday evenings and men’s league on Wednesday evenings, and various tournaments throughout the summer. Rental carts are available.

Disc Golf

Laurel has an 18-hole Disc Golf course in the open area between Hwy 20 and Haskell Field, and wraps around Haskell Field along the Walking Trail.  Participants will provide their own discs. 

Discs can be purchased at Laurel ACE Hardware, across from the Disc Course.

City Park
City Park

City Park – The Laurel City Park is located at 302 Cedar St. The park is an attractive, shaded area with a variety of playground equipment, City-maintained bathrooms and a covered shelter with picnic tables.  There are 5 camping pads with electricity on the south side of the park. Camping fees are $10.00 per night, payable at the Laurel City Office. On the east side, is the first school house in Laurel (Morning Glory School) and also the first home in Laurel (Angus & Rose Maun built in April 1892).

Lions Club Park – The Lion’s Club Park is located at 600 Wakefield St.  It has playground equipment, 3 covered shelters with tables for gatherings and picnics, and a basketball court on the west side of the park. It is next to the Laurel swimming pool.

LCC School Playground Park

LCC School Playground Park – The LCC School playground is on the north side of the LCC Elementary school and is enclosed by fencing.  This play area includes a two play sets, a set of swings, and a basketball court. 

Arlys Park

Arlys Park – Arlys park is located on Oak St. in the Hillcrest addition. The Park includes a playset and shaded benches. The land and playground equipment was generously donated to the city in 2021 by Dr. Sam and Jessica Recob.

Walking Trail

The Walking Trail begins at LCC School, and will take you through the tunnel to avoid crossing the highway, heads west to Haskell Field, and wraps around to 4th and Maple Streets. There are pieces of exercise equipment on the east and west side of Haskell Football field along the walking trail to provide an extra element of interest, that were installed as a Youth Philanthropy project in 2019.
