The Laurel Economic Development Office will relay local State and Federal assistance programs and updated information for our business. We will post this information on our website, Laurel Economic Development and Laurel, NE Facebook pages.

One of the recent updates is Nebraska Department of Labor (DOL) will provide services to companies/employees who are experiencing a closure or layoff. The DOL has a program whereby an employer can apply for a Short-Term Compensation (STC) for their employees. This allows the employees to work when needed, but also gives the employees partial unemployment. During the STC, the employer agrees to continue providing benefits to the employees. Also, the Small Business Administration is offering designated states low interest federal disaster loans for working capital to small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus. Their web address is .
